Dia Frampton Goes to the Finals!
Two words - Dia Frampton. I'm so glad she didn't get voted off from the show The Voice. Tonight she did a cover of R.E.M.'s Losing My Religion and it was good! She almost sounded like the female version of Michael Stipe but with a little twist. I am a huge fan and I can't wait to see what she has to do next. There are so many good voices and excellent singers on the show, but Dia is a true artist and she stands out. I'm just not sure if America gets it, but it seems like they do since she is the highest charting The Voice singer on iTunes right now at #7, higher tan Javier Colon. In fact, I just downloaded her song. Check out the video of her singing live on the show -

It's Time for Summer Solstice
Today is the first day of summer and it sure is hot! Summer solstice! And check out Google Doodle featuring the artist Takashi Murakami - http://bit.ly/iqmoHC ....Oh and check out our Stonehenge pic below circa 2008 when we went on vacation to England. It always reminds me of summer solstice and the celebrations there...

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! A special shout out to my own Daddy-o (my surprise for you is not until next week), my late Grandpa Julian (am proud and honored to be your granddaughter, and we miss you very much) and my dear Uncle Boy (who was like a father to us growing up). Much love to y'all!

Just Go With It
Just saw that Adam Sandler movie on Video On Demand. Cute. I must be mellowing down with age. When I was younger, I watched a lot of indie films but for the past years, I'm more inclined to watch love stories and comedies. If you think I changed, check out Dave Matthews in the movie. He can act! And he's funny too.

Finally in SF - U2 360 Tour
I've been waiting for this for a year now. I bought tix to U2's concert last year but they canceled it due to Bono's injury. It's either I get a refund or keep the tix until they travel to the Bay Area. This year, they finally have their concert, but I could not locate my tix. Good thing Ticketmaster quickly sent another pair to will call. So we hurried to the venue. When we got to Oakland Coliseum, we could not find parking so we were late a bit and Al had to drop me off the VIP entrance. When I got to will call, they could not find my tix. When they found it, I was running so I can each of what's left of the concert. We had tix for the 300 section but we snuck our way into general admission and on the floor near the stage. Tickets were so expensive and now I understand why. U2 puts on a massive production and a long concert that's worth your money. Thanks Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen Jr and Adam Clayton for a magical night. I didn't want the everning to end. Here's a video -

Snorkling in the Pool
Woke up today to get ready for a college graduation celebration. I can't believe a friend's daughter finished college already. It seems just yesterday that she graduated high school! Anyway, I haven't been to Bayanihan in a long time, so I was ready to visit once again. As soon as we got in, I saw a buffet table of delicious filipino food. I tried their bangus sisig and it was the best! I later on found out that it was catered by Patio Filipino in San Bruno. I'm definitely going to visit this place again (been there a couple of times) for their bangus sisig. It was nice to see old friends too at the event.
After the event, Al and I wanted to catch the last showing of Bridesmaid in Tanforan. But while talking to a friend on our drive there, he invited us to this impromptu swimming and barbeque. Of course we don't have swim wear, but we wanted to hang too. As soon as we got there, I found my friend snorkling in the pool! First time I've seen anybody do that lol. His reason? He's practicing snorkling when we go on a Carribean cruise. Hilarious! I love my bff.

Father's Day Brunch
Although Al is technically not a father yet (well almost until the tragedy early this year), I thought of surprising him to a champagne brunch by Rockaway Beach in Pacifica since we haven't been there for so long. I wanted to go Moonraker (which was the venue of our first 'formal' date and his birthday at the time) because it brings back a lot of memories. But I found out that it was closed down and replaced by Ristorante Portofino. I looked at the site and it seemed promising, but when we got there, I didn't like the food at all! And this was just breakfast! If it weren't for the view, I would've left. Anyway, I made reservations already. We had a nice dinner though the night before at Nick's with a live band too and sunset - http://twitpic.com/7zcd8. And the view at both places are spectacular - http://twitpic.com/81dml.

Road Trip to Las Vegas
It was my brother's wedding anniversary and he wanted to drive to Las Vegas for vacation and wanted us to go with them. Before the trip, Al and I psyched up ourselves by watching the movie Hang Over in the theater. We secured a time share and two-bedroom suite that was right on the strip and in front of Planet Hollywood from Al's aunt and uncle. It was also next to Bellagio and so conveniently located!
Our first day was the most fun. We had brunch at Salo-Salo Grill and passed by Palms to get our badges for the CineVegas Film Fest. If we knew it included brunch, we would have gone there instead. But it also included three free movies, an awards ceremony at their nightclub Rain, and VIP access to their other clubs Moon and the Playboy Club. We saw an exclusive screening of World's Greatest Dad and thought Robin Williams was there in person. We saw Bobcat Goldthwait, Alexi Gilmore, and other actors of the movie instead. At the awards ceremony and reception at Rain, we saw more celebrities such as Maria Menunos, Tony Hawk, Dennis Hopper, Willen Dafoe, and Jon Voight. They had unlimited booze and hors d' ouvres. We saw Angelina Jolie's dad again at an restaurant called Nove Italiano and Al took a pic with him. After the awards, we went to the Playboy club to hang out and check it out. We also checked out Moon for some cool sounds (DJ AM and Paul Oakenfold play there on weekends). At night, we had a late dinner at Palms Cafe and coffee at Starbuck's in Planet Hollywood.
Our second day was devoted to the strip. We spend to day going to places we've never been before (new hotels such as Planet Hollywood, Pallazzo, Rio, and Encore). We even checked out Trump (just the lobby coz we were curious). We had buffet at Wynn's too. We got free passes for the club at Encore but decided not to go since we were so tired. On our third day, we had another celebrity sighting at Hooters of all places (we went there to check it out too since we've never been there). We saw Floyd Mayweather Sr. and took pics with him. We also went to Hard Rock Cafe coz they wanted to buy stuff, and the Las Vegas sign so we can take more pics. We also went to the Las Vegas Marine Harbor to feed the fish (my first time to go there and it was cool) and a quick trip to Hoover Dam (my first time to do the tour inside, we were always outside). The short vacation was fun and tiring at the same time.

Triple Bill at the Blank Club
Al and I felt like going out tonight, so we decided to go to the Blank Club after hearing that Al's fave band, Glasvegas, was going to be there. We already saw the band not too long ago at Harlow's in Sacramento, but Al is such a fan that he wanted to see them again. The Von Bondies and the Audrey Sessions were opening for them as well and I always wanted to see Von Bondies. We met up with a couple of friends, watched awesome sets, broadcasted the concert live on ustream, and got to hang out with the band later on. After the concert, there was also the usual new wave dance party. It was a very fun night.
