Trip Down Memory Lane

This song has been buggin' me for the past days. Now that Christmas is getting closer, I wish I had this song to play over and over again. Although it is not exactly a Christmas song, it was sung in the movie Elf which I saw last year and again last month. And the singing-in-the-shower scene was my favorite part (aside from the other hilarious parts of the movie). Now the duet is buggin' me. I need to have that song. It's the track 5 duet of the soundtrack I think. So if you have it, please lend it to me, pretty please? UPDATE - I got the song. Thanks so much! It's on my radio blog on my right sidebar. Sing along with me. The lyrics go like this -
Baby's It's Cold Outside by Leon Redbone and Zooey Deschanel

I really can't stay - Baby it's cold outside
I've got to go away - Baby it's cold outside
This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice - I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice
My mother will start to worry - Beautiful, what's your hurry
And father will be pacing the floor - Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry - Beautiful, please don't hurry
Well maybe just a half a drink more - Put some music on while I pour

The neighbors might think - Baby, it's bad out there
Say, what's in this drink - No cabs to be had out there
I wish I knew how - Your eyes are like starlight now
To break this spell - I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell
I ought to say no, no, no, sir - Mind if I move a little closer
At least I'm gonna say that I tried - What's the sense in hurting my pride
I really can't stay - Baby don't hold out
Ahh, but it's cold outside

I simply must go - Baby, it's cold outside
The answer is no - Ooh baby, it's cold outside
This welcome has been - I'm lucky that you dropped in
So nice and warm -- Look out the window at that storm
My sister will be suspicious - Man, your lips look so delicious
My brother will be there at the door - Waves upon a tropical shore
My maiden aunt's mind is vicious - Gosh your lips look delicious
Well maybe just a cigarette more - Never such a blizzard before

I've got to go home - Oh, baby, you'll freeze out there
Say, lend me your comb - It's up to your knees out there
You've really been grand - Your eyes are like starlight now
But don't you see - How can you do this thing to me
There's bound to be talk tomorrow - Making my life long sorrow
At least there will be plenty implied - If you caught pneumonia and died
I really can't stay - Get over that old out
Ahh, but it's cold outside

Anyway, I am in such good spirits today. Who would have thought that surfing my sister's site would lead me to a sweet nostalgic trip down memory lane. I accidentally clicked on her friend's blog who also subscribes to a music site that she linked too. And this site had some music that I have been looking for! Hmmm, let me see, where do I start? I saw Sugarcube's Motorcrash, They Might Be Giants' Don't Let Me Start and Birdhouse In You Soul, Cocteau Twin's Iceblink Luck and Carolyn's Fingers, Pixies' Alec Eiffel, Sonic Youth's 100% and Bull In The Heather, and lots more new and old bands. Then, I don't know how but I got to this site that had the whole 120 Minutes archived list of songs since 1986! Oh man, I was tripping with joy! I was searching for some artists on the list such as an early Sarah Mclachlan (when she was still chubby) and her song Into the Fire in the early 90's, Trash Can Sinatras' Only Tongue Can Tell and Ned's Atomic Dustbin's Happy but apparently, they're not on the list. It's an archive in progress and some years only had partial lists. What's interesting though is that people on the message boards are trading the old videos of the shows in either VHS or DVD format. I was suddenly nostalgic of the videos I had seen then on that show that was very influencial to me. Dave Kendall is irreplacable!
