Cinco de Mayo
It was a perfect day to celebrate. I just had a nice pat on the back from my bosses regarding a job well done with a project I worked on. Of course, I'm keeping THAT email as a future reference. Feels good to be recognized for hard work. And yet I'm nervous. So far the highers like it, but now the big honcho will have his say. Scary if you ask me. Last week was hectic with tight deadlines, working with a new, but awesome boss, covering for a co-worker who was on vacation, and at the same time, doing my regular work. I still can't imagine how I pulled that off. But now that I look back, I can see why I had missed lunches, arrived early at work, and worked lots of overtime. So today, it's time to kick back, Cinco de Mayo style. Another department had a little fiesta going on so me and some co-workers crashed into their party. They had some Pacificos and Coronas and what do I grab? You guessed it - a Pepsi. Are you kidding? I'll be driving back and don't want to get into an accident. Haha.
Anyway, as soon as I got home, I cooked some lumpia shanghai for dinner while Al went out and bought some cooked crab. Over dinner, Al was just telling me how Coldplay had a surprise concert at the Fillmore. And guess who went? Robin Williams and Steve Young! Oh and SF mayor gave a shout out to the band, adding to his hipness factor. Another reason to love the city - its uber hip politicians! I also got a surprise call from my cousin Twi in Canada. So glad to hear from her. She was just checking if we were gonna go to her wedding. We're still contemplating on it since it will be a family reunion.
