Howard Street Closed this Week
I guess this is how big Oracle OpenWorld is this year. Check out this article. I tried registering so I can check it out but the visitor's plus pass is already sold out! Anyhoo, I heard Elton John, Joan Jett, Devo, and Berlin will be at the Cow Palace for OpenWorld peeps to watch. I miss working at Oracle!
Speaking of concerts, the other day, Al and I ate at Tu Lan after work and saw the Warfield hosting a Clap Your Hands Say Yeah concert. Such a bummer that we didn't have tix. I also noticed that lately, we've been eating out almost everyday since we've been carpooling. We've visited Patio Filipino last Thursday because we've been craving for their sisig, ate at Max's in SSF on Friday and had dinner with a friend (also bought some to go so we can bring 'em to another friend), Sonoma Chicken Coop last Wednesday because we've been craving for their calamari, Fatt Dogg last Tuesday so Al can try their calabrese, Mountain Mike's last Saturday coz we we're craving for their chicken and garlic pizza, China Delight last Saturday since we we're craving for some pork tenderloins, and finally some fishballs and barbeque by Island Pacific on Sunday. Yikes! We have to stop doing this soon!
UPDATE - Guess what else Al told me? Oracle bought naming rights to Oakland Arena! So it's now called the Oracle. How cool is that? Just in time for OpenWorld. I also just got an email from my old boss at Oracle informing me of the launch of the last project I left behind last month. Glad to know I'm still in his thoughts. =P Check out another article on OpenWorld (pics show how huge this is for the city).
