The Hadouken Music Stereotype
Hahaha, I've noticed a considerable amount of traffic on my site referred by natural searches for the term 'indie cindy' so I checked it out myself. Apparently, 'indie cindy' is a term referring to a music stereotype described by the band Hadouken in their song That Boy That Girl. It's kinda insulting, but I love the song though, hahaha. How ironic. Ya guys know I've been using this term for years, but I guess Hadouken is playing my song (or not). Unfortunately, I don't fit the stereotype (not the look of the lego haircut and polka dot dress), but there are some indie traits that I have associated with it (although I should not consider myself too indie nowadays coz I guess I mellowed down). I also appreciate the usage of a term I coined long time ago (only for myself though). I guess I'm feeling as if they were playing my song! Yeah! Check out the song on my radio blog. Anyhoo, check out a sketch of what an 'indie cindy' looks like (click on the image for a larger picture) -
After reading the lyrics (kinda made me feel a bit down, but it's a good song nevertheless), I looked up the term on urbandictionary.com and found some definitions for just 'cindy' and I think definition #1 fits me better, hahaha!
