What Have I Been Up To Lately?
My apologies for not blogging as often as I used to (or for not having something meaningful to write about). As some of you already know, I've been on a break from Mansanas (I just quit two weeks ago after thinking things through). But I referred two friends and one of 'em got hired, yipee! The break was a much needed one from all the stress in my personal life recently - most of which was sadness from my mom's sudden death. So what I have been up to lately? Pretty much just resting and taking care of things at home (y'all can say I've been domesticated). Yep, from preparing and cooking lumpia, to running errands, and doing laundry (I think I mentioned this at a previous blog entry).
I'm looking at my calendar and summer seems full of party fun (the family kind). This month is pretty much wedding season. Al and I ust attended my dad's cousin's 50th wedding anniversary. We applaud such a feat! Al kept saying he wanted us to last that long, and I'm praying that it happens (if I live that long, knock on wood). It was such a cute ceremony, and the funny part was when lolo groom was using his teeth to get the garter off lola bride's legs. It was hilarious and cute! You can tell they love each other very much.
Today, I hung out at a friend's house to eat lunch and rest in San Carlos. She had a cute apartment, and I felt like just dozing off because the environment was perfect for siesta time! The downtown area is also nice (I've been to the downtown area, but not the Laurel side which I thought was nice). Anyway, I planned to get a dress altered for another wedding on 777 but I made the appointment tomorrow instead. I've also seen a doctor last night because I feared of having strep throat when I started feeling sore (my theory of having strep started when a friend of mine stayed for a few hours at our place to rest after coming home early from work since she wasn't feeling very well, then later found out from her doctor that she tested positive for the strep bacteria). Luckily, after getting a culture sample, my test turned out negative. My throat feels better now though. Al was so nice to even cook me some misua soup with beef meatballs (yummy). I love it!
I've also watched a couple of movies on PPV such as Epic Movie (yeah, you can tell I was bored). But for summer, I really, really want to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Ratatouille, and Transformers. I also recently had lunch with a friend at Quiznos who just got a job for Digidesign in MP (congrats - ya know who you are)! For dinner today, Al and I decided to eat out at Sonoma Chicken Coop since we didn't feel like cooking. Of course, we had our usual calamari and it was crispy delicious! But lately, I've been an insomniac. Late nights are spent chatting with my cuz in Wash town. I need to get my body clock working right! Help!
