Cirque du Soleil's Kooza Rocks!
Today is Al's day off so we decided to buy tix for Kooza and see Cirque du Soleil in SF. I was psyched to see it and I wasn't disappointed. There were slow moments, but there were thrilling moments where you just hold your breath. Parking was expensive (we should've done the street parking). As soon as we went inside the tent, we checked out the merchandise (masks were expensive). We didn't get anything so we went to the concession stand to get some popcorn and soda since I was sooo hungry. As we waited, some of the cast members were already entertaining people by walking around the audience and talking to them (some bringing kids on stage). Once the performance started, you will notice that audience participation is part of the act.
The show featured great theatrics with three girls with amazing flexible bodies, mimes, live music with an awesome drummer and singer, trapeze girl, wheel of death (my favorite), a unicyclist, clowns, tight-rope walkers, canon shots, see-saw acrobatics, balancing acts on chairs (amazing), magic tricks, elaborate costumes, and much more. Too bad I couldn't take pics or videos of the performance since cameras are prohibited. So most of our shots are outside the Grand Chapiteau (although I managed to sneak in a pic of me and Al inside the tent then I got reprimanded! Hey, they announced that cams are not allowed during performances and I did it during intermission. Oh well. But the show is just amazing! I felt like a little kid again!
